What Name Was That?
We are often asked about our name:
“reformed from what?” By this we mean the Church of the Lord Jesus
Christ reformed according to the Bible. Some 500 years ago, in
Europe, the Church had become corrupt. Many Christians, including
church leaders, reacted against this and God used them to bring the
Church back to a greater faithfulness to the Scriptures. This great
movement produced the Protestant churches – Anglican, Presbyterian,
Lutheran and Reformed, all of which were the churches of the
Reformation in their respective countries. We are simply one of
these churches that still wants to be faithful to the Bible.
In addition, when we first began
to worship together, we did so in the Teacher's Training college on
Dovedale Ave. Hence our name!
Worship Services
We have two worship services each Sunday; at 10.00am
and 5.00pm. During the services a crèche is provided for young
children.

Sunday School
Our Sunday School is for children aged four to
twelve. It is held at the church building at 9.00am each Sunday
morning during school terms.

Who Are We?
We are a gathering of around 130
adults and children who meet together because we share a common
faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Our
members range in age from newly born to 80+ and we are from various
backgrounds and cultures.
What we share together is our belief that;
-
God is to be worshipped as the
Creator of all things and is the One who is in control of
everything that happens in our lives
-
Our worship of God should be
reverent and heart-felt as we focus on His glory
-
Life only makes sense when
God's Son, Jesus Christ, is at the centre
-
Clear, relevant Bible teaching
and preaching is essential in coming to know God better
-
The Church should be like a
family, where young and old worship together
-
People need friendship and
fellowship with each other and the Church should be a place
where this is encouraged and experienced
It is our desire that through our
worship services and mid-week activities people will grow in their
knowledge of God, and be motivated to live for Him on a daily
basis. We realise that people can be busy in this day and age, but
it is our hope that you might take time to seek God, and give us
the
privilege of helping you know Him better.
